Director of the Holistic Youth Defense Clinic,
Crystal Shin directs the Holistic Youth Defense Clinic at UVA Law, where law students represent indigent youth on delinquency, school discipline, and special education matters while developing holistic, client-centered advocacy skills. Through their zealous advocacy, the clinic aims to keep youth in their homes, schools, and communities with appropriate supports. Previously, Shin directed the Program in Law and Public Service at UVA Law and directed a special education advocacy clinic at William & Mary. Prior to law school, Shin was a fourth-grade teacher in a Title I elementary school.
