Deirdre Enright
Deirdre Enright is director of the Law School’s Project for Informed Reform, a clinic that selects issues and problems proposed by any stakeholder in the criminal justice system. They study, research, and investigate the issues and problems thoroughly, with the constant goal of creating solutions that are both realistic and consistent with ‘best practices.’ The clinic has already made notable progress in conducting a thorough review of multiple convictions associated with a disgraced Norfolk police detective.
Enright also leads the Center for Criminal Justice, which serves as a hub for scholarship and activities involving criminal law, promoting research designed to help make a more just society. Enright previously served as founding director of the Innocence Project at UVA Law, representing a diverse array of wrongfully convicted Virginians.
