Elgin Cleckley

Design Thinking, the systematic, rigorous methodologies, and modes of inquiry used by designers require new approaches on topics of race, culture, and spatial justice.  _mpathic design is a new way of Design Thinking, actively working as an initiative, pedagogy, and practice. Tested in academic, community, and professional contexts, _mpathic design inspires and empowers students, citizens, organizations, and community members to transform mindsets and understand other perspectives, producing empathic socio-cultural design ideas.  Dr. Cleckley is also a Co-Director for The Equity Center's Democratization of Data Initiative.
