J.D. Quigley

A pure mathematician, J.D. Quigley specializes in algebraic topology. As a new UVA faculty member, Prof. Quigley has already prioritized community outreach. In his course “MATH 3000: Transition to Higher Mathematics,” Prof. Quigley’s students develop their mathematical communication skills outside the classroom by tutoring middle and high school students through the Starr Hill Pathways Program. This program, part of UVA’s Equity Center, promotes social, technical, and research infrastructure to redress persisting educational inequities among youth in Charlottesville and the Albemarle region.
