Dr. McManus is a physician-scientist who studies the impact of health policies on HIV care and prevention in the United States. Her NIH-supported research has a focus on HIV care, HIV prevention, health policy, inequities in care, social determinants of health, access to care, epidemiology, and data science. Dr. McManus is committed to mentoring and training the next generation of healthcare professionals, and she has collaborated with numerous students, residents, and fellows on research projects and electives. Currently, she is the Medical Director of the UVA Ryan White HIV Clinic, and she serves as the Director of the HIV Primary Care Track for the UVA Internal Medicine Residency. Since January 2023, she has been the Chair of the School of Medicine Committee on Women in Medicine and Science, facilitating opportunities for women in medicine and science to learn new skills and share expertise and advocating for gender equity in medicine and science.
