MC Forelle serves as an assistant professor in the Engineering & Society department at UVA’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. Their research explores the convergence of law, technology, and culture, focusing on aspects such as materiality, sustainability, and practices of resistance and change. Currently, Prof. Forelle is dedicated to investigating the realm of software-enhanced automotive technology, delving into how these emerging systems disrupt established norms in repair, maintenance, and modification. Additionally, they contribute to a project at UVA's Environmental Institute, where they analyze the environmental and governance challenges associated with the integration of big data systems into automobiles.
