Dr. Little's research is centered on the creation, assessment, and implementation of evidence-based interventions aimed at improving health behaviors and preventing diseases among underserved populations. Specifically, her research portfolio is dedicated to addressing cancer health disparities in Appalachia by developing interventions that target health risk behaviors such as tobacco use while promoting vaccines and cancer screenings. She spearheads a UVA partnership with community pharmacies to assist Appalachia residents in quitting smoking. Additionally, Dr. Little conducts research to encourage healthy behaviors among active duty military personnel, retirees, and their dependents.
