Tamara Wilkerson Dias

Tamara W. Dias, a native of Richmond, VA, earned her B.A. in Spanish Linguistics, and her M.T. in Foreign Language Education from the University of Virginia. She holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Morgan State University. Dr. Dias, a 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 Education honoree, is the Executive Director of the African American Teaching Fellows (AATF) in Charlottesville, VA. To date, AATF has recruited and mentored 42 African American Teaching Fellows, supporting the development of novice teachers into premiere educators and empowering African American teachers to serve the next generation. Dr. Dias has invested boundless energy into the African American Teaching Fellows initiative with the goal of sending excellent educators back to classrooms where the teachers mirror their students.
