Greenbrier Global Artists

Greenbrier Global Artists is an after-school program at Greenbrier Elementary School for children who have immigrated to the United States from around the globe. The curriculum is aimed at supporting students through their transition to life in Charlottesville, and to provide opportunities for students to express themselves and communicate about their identities. We hold weekly art-making sessions from October to March towards these projects: Visual Identity Charts Self-Portraits Family Collages Home Country Collages Maps of Current Life Favorite Food Sculptures Animal Paintings Blind Contour Drawings in the Museum Power Figures Greenbrier Global Artists was supported by a grant from the BAMA Works Fund.
